Polling begins in Uttarakhand for presidential election

Dehradun, July 18 (UNI) Polling for the next President started on Monday in state assemblies across the country as well as in Uttarakhand alongside the polling in Parliament.
The MLAs of Uttarakhand have come to Dehradun to vote for the next President from among Droupadi Murmu, the NDA's candidate up against joint opposition candidate Yashwant Sinha.
A polling station was set up in a room of the Vidhan Sabha building here.
There are a total of 70 Vidhan Sabha members (MLAs), five Lok Sabha members and three Rajya Sabha members in the state.
The value of vote of one MLA of the state is 64. Thus, the total vote value of 70 MLAs is 4,480. Voting will continue till 5 pm.
