Lucknow, Jul 10 (UNI) Smelling a conspiracy behind the encounter of most wanted criminal Vikas Dubey on Friday morning, the Opposition leaders have started raising questions in their bid to corner the government.
Terming the encounter 'fake,'Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav tweeted, "In fact, the car did not overturn, the government has been saved from overturning from the revealing of secrets."
Yesterday too after the arrest of Vikas Dubey, Akhilesh had demanded disclosure of all the call details of his mobile phone of the criminal.
On the other hand, Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj Party chief Om Prakash Rajbhar tweeted, "What was expected happened, had the main accuaed in Kanpur case, Vikas Dubey opened his mouth, many big leaders and officers wouldn't have been able to speak. There is some big personality behind this who did not want that Vikas Dubey speak the truth in front of the Magistrate and he was silenced before that."
However in an apparently balanced tweet, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said ," It is the end of a criminal but what will happen to those who gave him protection in the crime."
On the other hand, senior Congress leader and former Union Minister Jitin Prasada said, "People expect justice from the government, not revenge...This is the difference between a soldier and a criminal."

Countering the opposition attack and replying to Akhilesh Yadav, Mritunjay Kumar, Media Advisor to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said in a tweet,"A criminal is a criminal and don't do politics over it. Some people have the habit of sympathy on the criminals."

Meanwhile, questions started pouring in from all political quarters over the encounter as it was the second such incident under same police station during the past two days.

"When Vikas had surrendered before the police in Ujjain on Thursday then there was no reason seen that he tried to flee from the police custody ," said a close relative of Vikas, who do not want to be identified.

There was also a report that media vehicles which were following the STF car carrying Vikas Dubey, but were stopped for around 15 minutes before the incident. When they were allowed, they were informed about the accident and the encounter.

However, the relatives of the martyred policemen have expressed their satisfaction on the killing of Vikas. " We are happy on the outcome and killing of Vikas," said one Kamalkant Dubey, close relative of martyred CO Devendra Mishra. Sister of a martyred constable in Auriyya too expressed happiness on her encounter of Vikas.

Around 18 criminals including Vikas have been made accused in the killing of 8 policemen in Bikaru village on July 2.

Till date, 6 of them were killed in encounters including Vikas Dubey .

While Prem Prakash Pandey and Atul Dubey were killed on the same day while Anar Dubey was encountered in Hamirpur on Wednesday and Prabhat Mishra and Babua Dubey were killed in Kanour and Etawah districts respectively.

Surprisingly, Vikas and Prabhat Mishra were killed in a similar way under same police station.
