UP: SP workers going to Shravasti's Darji Purwa stopped by police

Bahraich, Sep 5 (UNI) Following the death of a youth in police custody in the Gilaula police station of Shravasti, the Samajwadi Party (SP) workers who were going to his village Darjipurwa were stopped by the police in Shravasti district on Saturday.
According to police sources, Wajid Ali (22), a resident of Darji Purwa village in Gilaula police station, had died by suicide in police custody on Friday. SP leader and Legislative Council member Rajpal Kashyap was going to the victim's village Darji Purwa along with other leaders of the party. However, they were stopped by the police at the Ikauna bypass tiraha.
Additional District Magistrate Yoganand Pandey, Additional Superintendent of Police BC Dubey, SDM Rajesh Kumar Mishra, CO Tarkeshwar Pandey remained present on the spot with a huge police force.
