Lucknow, Aug 26 (UNI) Referring to the rape and murder of an intermediate student in Lakhimpur Kheri, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has asked Governor Anandiben Patel to intervene for the betterment of women safety.
Mrs Vadra on Wednesday tweeted, "Your Excellency, the Governor, the situation of women safety in UP has turned very bad. A girl from Lakhimpur Kheri was going to fill an online form. She was raped and then brutally murdered. This is happening daily in UP now. I hope you will understand its seriousness and take it into cognizance."
On the other hand, Congress Legislative Party leader in the Assembly, Aradhana Mishra 'Mona' has said that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath gives the slogan of 'Beti padhao, beti bachao' in UP, talks about 'Ram Raj,' however, it is useless to even imagine this in such a state where heinous acts of rape with the daughters are coming to the fore frequently.
