Lucknow, Sep 20 (UNI) Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati, though has congratulated the first dalit chief minister Charanjit Singh Channi of Punjab but has slammed the Congress, for the election gimmick.
" It is purely an election gimmick of the Congress by making Charanjit Singh Channi as Chief Minister for a few months just to get the votes of Dalits," she said.
In a statement here on Monday Ms Mayawati said that Congress has taken this decision to get an electoral advantage in the coming Punjab assembly polls.
