Mayawati corners Yogi govt on alleged Dalit oppression

Lucknow, Sep 4 (UNI) Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati on Friday said that both the former Samajwadi Party (SP) and the current Yogi Adityanath-led BJP government were the same as far as the alleged oppression of Dalits and Brahmins was concerned.
In a series of tweets, the BSP honcho said that the kind of oppression the Brahmins and Dalits were facing in the former SP government, the same was being done under the current BJP government. Alongside, the Muslims are also being oppressed and are being implicated in false cases which is extremely sad, she added.
In another tweet, she said, "The way in which the statue of Dalit messiah Baba Saheb Bhimrao Aambedkar was broken and the monikers of the districts and institutes named after them were changed, the exact thing is happening now under the BJP government. Now, even the idol of their messiah Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar is being broken. Such incidents, first in Varanasi and then in Jaunpur, is extremely condemnable."
