Lucknow, Sep 1 (UNI) Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati on Tuesday said that the murders of four Dalits in the past two days in Uttar Pradesh were a matter of concern and the government needs to make concrete arrangements for the security of the people from the weaker sections of society.
In a tweet, Ms Mayawati said, "People from all sections are suffering from atrocities of every kind under the BJP government in UP but the frequent incidents injustice and atrocities against Dalits are a matter of concern. The death of a Dalit youth due to police brutality in Rai Bareli and the murder of three Dalits in Agra is extremely saddening and condemnable."
She said, "In view of these latest incidents in UP, the government should take prompt action against the culprits under stringent legal sections and ensure the safety of the people, especially the weaker sections, this is the BSP's demand. Such frequent painful incidents in UP prove the prevalence of 'jungle-raj' here."
