Lucknow, Aug 21 (UNI) Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati has appealed that the special issues of public interest should be effectively taken up in the current brief session of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly.
In a tweet on Friday, Ms Mayawati said, "It is my strong appeal to the MLAs in power as well as those in Opposition that in the ongoing session of the Assembly, the special issues of public interest should be raised in an effective manner by rising above party politics to make the administration/government responsible and accountable. This is the demand in widespread public interest."
Further, she said, "The issue of development is very much missing from the government's agenda, but a voice should be raised about women harassment and the murders and other tortures being meted out to Dalits, Muslims and Brahmins through a feeling of malice and the worsening law and order situation in UP."
