Demolition of Saint Ravidas temple in Haridwar condemnable: Mayawati

Lucknow, Sep 1 (UNI) Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati on Tuesday criticized the demolition of Saint Ravidas temple in the name of removing encroachments in religious city Haridwar.
In a tweet, Ms Mayawati said,"Uttarakhand government's action of demolishing Saint Ravidas temple in the name of removing encroachments in Haridwar district is extremely condemnable. The state government should talk to his followers and find a quick solution to this matter, this is the demand of the BSP."

Bhopal, Oct 25 (UNI) The resignation of Damoh lawmaker Rahul Singh – who subsequently entered Madhya Pradesh’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party ranks on Sunday – triggered a ‘general assault’ on the saffron camp by Congress state President Kamal Nath who claimed that the BJP has gauged how disastrous the November 10 (Assembly by-election counting day) outcome will be for it.
“Its lust for power, writhing and jitteriness is clearly visible. The BJP does not repose faith in democracy, the mandate and morality. By-polls are being ceaselessly imposed on the state. I again appeal to the masses to come forward for safeguarding the republic and the Constitution,” the erstwhile chief minister conveyed via social media.

Bhopal, Oct 25 (UNI) With by-poll voting just nine days away in 28 Assembly constituencies of Madhya Pradesh, the opposition Congress took a direct hit amidships on Sunday when Damoh legislator Rahul Singh submitted his resignation from the Vidhan Sabha and subsequently entered ruling Bharatiya Janata Party ranks.
Mr Singh formally assumed saffron camp membership at the BJP state office in the presence of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the party’s state President Vishnu Datt Sharma plus Urban Development and Housing Minister Bhupendra Singh. Earlier, he put in his papers to Pro Tem Speaker Rameshwar Sharma who accepted the same.
