Lucknow, Oct 15 (UNI) Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav has said that the BJP government is plotting to bring the farmers too, under the income tax.
In a statement issued on Thursday, Mr Yadav claimed that with the intention of snatching the fields of the farmers, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has now pointed to the conspiracy to try to make them an 'entrepreneur'. This directly means that the BJP government now wants to bring farmers under the income tax also. The benefits available so far to the farmers will be abolished soon.
He said it is the clear opinion of the Samajwadi Party that the farmers should be allowed to be in the category of grain-providers but they should get facilities like industries. All three laws related to agriculture are against the benefits of the farmers. There is widespread anger amongst the farmers against them.
The former UP CM averred that in reality, the BJP government has only been cheating the farmers. Whether it is loan waiver for the farmers, doubling their incomes or giving them the price for their crops, the BJP government has not fulfilled any of these promises. Instead, the government is engaged in creating various kinds of traps.
