BJP govt not worried about public suffering: Akhilesh

Lucknow, Aug 13 (UNI) Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) which gave the slogan of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas' has itself made it meaningless. It is clear from its work and intention that it does not care about the problems of the public and it only focuses on its comforts.
In a statement here, Mr Yadav said that on the occasion of Janmashtami, BJP brought darkness in the homes of lakhs of consumers. The work of pouring water on the happiness of Lord Krishna's birth has been done for the first time. Never before has such a game been played with public reverence and faith.
He said that on August 12, people remained worried without electricity in state capital Lucknow as well Varanasi, which is the Prime Minister's constituency and the Chief Minister's home district Gorakhpur. Electricity also was not available in Meerut, Mathura, Prayagraj, Saharanpur, Firozabad, Aligarh and Bareilly homes. The lies behind the tall claims of adequate electricity supply on festivals in UP have come to the fore.
