Chittorgarh Dec 28 (UNI) BJP MP Chandra Prakash Joshi on Tuesday stopped the release of the new 3D version of the light and sound show program immediately after its launch on Monday.
Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot had inaugurated the program after spending about Rs 5 crore on it. Joshi lodged his protest with District Chief Suresh Dhakad regarding the disputed Vedanta shown about Rani Padmini and Alauddin Khilji in the history of Chittor, which is being shown in the new version of the light and sound show.
Cooperation Minister Udayalal Anjana District Collector Tarachand Meena was present in the program.
Joshi said that he had told the tourism officer three days ago that in the new version, the objectionable narrative being shown about Rani Padmini and Alauddin Khilji should be removed. The tourism officer had also assured BJP MP that the objectionable part would be removed from the script of the show. When the show started, and as soon as the scene showing Alauddin Khaslji seeing Rani Padmini in the mirror Joshi raised his objection and asked to show organisers to stop the show. Mr Joshi then left the show midway.
He said that he had earlier also asked for the removal of the plaque in Padmini Mahal, on which it was written about this particular incident, claiming that the writing on the inscription was erroneous as this never happened therefore a new plaque was installed there.
Cooperative Minister Uday Anjana said that if Mr Joshi has any objection, it will be taken care of. He said that the matter had gone up to the Supreme Court and a decision has been taken in this matter, therefore no one can understand why is there opposition to this whole issue. He said that if there is any disputed part in the new show, then it will be considered for removal.
Chittor District Collector Tarachand Meena said that the senior officials of the tourism department have been informed about the script to which the MP has objected. Now it will be re-examined and if there is any objectionable part in it then it will be removed and will be started again with full care not to hurt anyone's sentiments.
