Rajasthan crisis: Cong MLA claims Pilot offered Rs 35 cr to leave Gehlot camp

Jaipur, Jul 20 (UNI) Rajasthan Congress MLA Giriraj Singh here on Monday alleged that former Deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot had tried to lure him with Rs 35 crore to leave Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot fold.
"Sachin offered a lot of money. Yes, it was 35 crore to leave the party. But I categorically rejected," Mr Singh told reporters here.
He,however, said he didn't have any call recording or proof but all his allegations were true.
"I don't know how to record calls. Nor I am putting any false allegations. I was offered money and that is it," Mr Singh claimed and maintained that no offer was given by Bharatiya Janata Party.
When asked when did Mr Pilot give such an offer, Mr Singh replied, "It was on two occasions. One was when I met him for panchayat related work, other was during a meeting on transfer of an official."
On raising this issue with Mr Gehlot, the MLA said he verbally told the chief minister that he (Sachin) and others were attempting to break the party but Mr Gehlot replied, "All will get well. Don't worry."
The ruling Congress in Rajasthan has plunged into crisis as one of its main leaders Mr Pilot has drifted away with at least 18 MLAs over certain reservations against Mr Gehlot.
Mr Gehlot has accused him and the BJP of 'horse-trading' and claims his government still enjoys the majority in the Assembly.
