Chandigarh, Oct 31 (UNI) The Punjab unit of Congress on Saturday hailed Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh for launching the Dr BR Ambedkar Post Matric Scholarship scheme, to safeguard the interests of SC students on the pious day of Pargat Utsav of Bhagwan Valmiki ji Maharaj.
In a statement issued here, President of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee Sunil Jakhar said the stopping of Post Matric scholarship scheme, under which Rs 800 crore was given to SC students annually for higher education, has exposed the anti-poor stance of the Modi government.
