Capt Amarinder his cabinet colleagues once again betrayed farmers by running away from protests

Chandigarh, Sep 25 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh, his Cabinet colleagues and Congress MLAs have once again betrayed farmers by running away from farmer protests being held throughout the state on Friday as no senior Congress leader attended protests anywhere in the state. This was stated by Senior Vice President and Spokesman of the Shiromani Akali Dal Dr.Dalit Singh Cheema today.
In a statement released here on Friday, Dr. Cheema said that is is most unfortunate to see that when the farmers protested not only in Punjab alone today but in whole country, programme of which was announced much earlier, majority of the senior congress leaders skipped these protests. He said that the SAD not only contributed in these protests by its ‘Chakka Jam’ programme and stood with the farming community, but CM, his ministerial colleagues and Congress MLAs and other leaders were turned their back towards these protests which is highly condemnable.
Dr. Cheema said that running away of Capt. Amarinder Singh and his colleagues is not surprising as it is on the lines of policy adopted by top Congress leadership at the national level. He said that its top leadership including Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Kapil Sibbal, P Chidambram and others senior leaders skipped the debate and only Punjab MPs were deputed to opposed these bills only orally but when the voting took place they also ran away.
