Bhopal, July 23 (UNI) It what has become a rather ‘familiar’ sequence of events in saffron-ruled Madhya Pradesh, opposition Congress lawmaker Narayan Patel – hitherto representing Khandwa District’s Mandhata – tendered his resignation on Thursday from the Assembly and entered Bharatiya Janata Party ranks.
Mr Patel assumed saffron camp membership at the BJP state office in the presence of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, party state President Vishnu Dutt Sharma, state General Secretary (Organisation) Suhas Bhagat, Urban Development and Housing Minister Bhupendra Singh plus other leaders.
Heaping sarcasm on the Congress, Mr Chouhan quipped, “Nowadays, that is a social media party with no vestige of an organisation. In Delhi, ‘one family’ means everything to the Congress and in Madhya Pradesh ‘one individual’ who is both state unit commander plus Leader of the Opposition and turned a deaf ear to his own legislators.
