Sympathising with UP farmers, neglecting state farmers: BJP hits out at Mah govt

Aurangabad, Oct 11 (UNI) Attacking the Maharashtra government on statewide bandh, the BJP on Monday questioned the intent of the protest held at the time when the flood-hit farmers are still awaiting state help.
Addressing a press conference here, state BJP GS and MLA Atul Save asserted, “Presently, when farmers and the general public in Maharashtra are reeling under the crisis, it is a mere hypocrisy of the Thackeray government to pass a condolence motion in a cabinet meeting on the pretext of being the saviour of the people of Uttar Pradesh.”
He alleged, “The Thackeray government was pursuing a nefarious policy of diverting the public's attention from the Lakhimpur case by calling a Maharashtra bandh after the Income-tax department found evidence of a Rs 1,050 crore scam.”
