Snow exposes alertness of administration: Tarigami

Snow exposes alertness of administration: Tarigami

Srinagar, Jan 4 (UNI) Alleging that snow has exposed alertness of the administration in the Kashmir valley, the Communist Party of India (M) on Monday said the tall claims are not matching with the ground realities as people are facing massive power breakdown, road blockades and scarcity of essential commodities.
The tall claims made by the administration on alertness have been exposed with snowfall especially in South Kashmir causing massive power breakdown, road blockades and scarcity of the essential commodities, former MLA Tarigami said in a statement here this afternoon.
Despite the prediction by the Meteorological Department, administration was ill-prepared for the snowfall, he said adding although snowfall is not something new to the region, the administration seems resisting change in its rusty work culture. With snowfall, the entire administration comes to a grinding halt which is reflective of a dire need for strengthening of disaster preparedness in the region, he alleged.
