Omar, Mehbooba, Sajjad raise issue of Sopore killing, family refute police claim

Srinagar, Sep 16 (UNI) Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti described the killing of Sopore youth after his arrest as cold blooded murder while Vice President (VP) of National Conference (NC) Omar Abdullah said encounters like Shopian and suspicious death like Sopore cannot possibly win back the confidence of people.
Meanwhile, elder brother of Irfan Ahmad Dar, whose dead body was recovered in Sopore hours after his arrest by security forces on Tuesday, refuted the police claim that Irfan had escaped from the custody when he was being taken to another place for arms recovery.
Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter Iltija Mufti, daughter of Mehbooba, who is operating her mother's twitter account said “ The cold blooded murder of 23 yr old Irfan Ahmed Dar, a shopkeeper by profession wrongfully accused of being an OGW (Over Ground Worker) is a grim reminder of how truth is mangled & stories are fabricated to justify killing innocent civilians in J&K . Iltija claimed that she is tweeting on behalf of her mother Mehbooba, who is detained under Public Safety Act (PSA) with proper permission.
