Srinagar, Jul 27 (UNI) Declaring that he cannot be a part of assembly elections if J&K remains a Union Territory (UT), former chief minister Omar Abdullah said none of the reasons given by the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre for abrogation of Article 370 and Article 35 A stand justification , be it the excuses of thriving terrorism or lack of investment in the state.
Taking to micro-blogging site twitter after writing a piece on a national English daily titled, ‘While Jammu and Kashmir remains UT, I will not contest Assembly elections’, the vice president of the National Conference (NC) said removing Article 370 may have been the popular thing to do, but going back on a nation’s sovereign commitments was not the right thing to do.
