History will record Modi’s name as statesman for turning new leaf in J&K democracy: Dr Jitendra Singh

Jammu, Nov 28 (UNI) Asserting that conduct of the first phase of the polling not only successfully but also peacefully is a tribute to the democracy, Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh on Saturday said that the history will record the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a statesman, who turned a new leaf in the history of democracy in Jammu and Kashmir.
"Whether the critics like it or not, history will record the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a statesman, who turned a new leaf in the history of democracy in Jammu and Kashmir," said Dr Singh, while campaigning in the hilly and far-flung terrains of Ukhral in district Ramban as a part of ensuing DDC Polls.
Dr Singh said that high voter turn-out in the first phase of polling for District Development Councils (DDC) is indicative of the pent up democratic aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, which has found its outlet following the constitutional changes and the introduction of three-tier grass-root democracy by the Modi government for the first time after 73 years.
