Shimla, Jul 7 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jairam Thakur on Tuesday said that nation was safe in the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Chief Minister made these remarks while inaugurating of several developmental projects worth Rs 45 crore in Sundernagar Vidhan Sabha area of Mandi district through video conferencing.
On the occasion, he also paid homage to Captain Vikram Batra, who had laid down his life while fighting the Pakistan infiltrators in Kargil on this day in 1999.
Captain Batra, who hailed from Palampur town of the hill state, was awarded with the Param Vir Chakra posthumously, India's highest and most prestigious award for valour, for his actions during the 1999 Kargil War.
