Congress demands hiking salary of ASHA workers

Dharamshala, July 29 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Congress on Wednesday demanded that the monthly salary of the ASHA workers in the state be hiked to Rs 18000, in view of their tremendous contribution during the COVID crisis in the state and be given other benefits.

State Congress General Secretary Kewal Singh Pathania told UNI that the ASHA workers risking their lives during the Corona period conducted door-to-door surveys and demanded that ASHA workers should be brought under the purview of EPF and ECHS schemes and be given benefits on retirement under the Social Security Pension Scheme.
