Chandigarh, Oct 7 (UNI) Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Bhupendra Singh Hooda has held the coalition government responsible for the problems faced by farmers in the mandis. He says that farmers have been coming to the mandis with paddy and other crops for several weeks, but they are not being purchased.
There is no purchase in comparison to the arrival of the crop. Farmers are being harassed in the name of registration and gate passes. The government is refusing to buy the crop as an excuse for moisture. As is getting purchases, it also can not get MSP to farmers. Under compulsion, farmers are selling their crops to private agencies at throw away prices. Private agencies are taking advantage of the helplessness of the farmers and looting them.
