Lucknow, Sep 19 (UNI) Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath here on Sunday said his government has transformed the sugar cane sector in Uttar Pradesh with timely payments to farmers and reopening closed mills.
He said before 2017, farmers were forced to commit suicide and mills were closed down between 2007 and 2017.
"There were even hunger deaths in December 2016 and January 2017, before we came to power. The previous governments did the work of ruining the condition of farmers where they were forced to commit suicide.
