Jammu, Nov 4 (UNI) Continuing tradition of celebrating Diwali with jawans every year since 2014, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday arrived at Naushera sector of Rajouri district to celebrate the 'Festival of Lights' with troops and uplift the 'josh'.
Prime Minister this morning reached at Jammu technical airport from where he left for Naushera.
According to sources, Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated Diwali with jawans of Indian Army and distributed sweets and fruits among them.
They said PM Modi lauded the jawans for standing tall in every condition and safeguarding the Indian borders.
He uplifted the morale of jawans, they said.
He will be staying for around three hours at Naushera with soldiers and will interact with Army commanders.
The Prime Minister will take review of security situation during a briefing by the top Army Commanders including Chief of Army Staff General M M Naravane.
General Naravane reached Rajouri-Poonch on Wednesday and reviewed the security situation along the Line of Control (LoC).
Earlier in 2019, the Prime Minister celebrated Diwali with jawans in Rajouri.
Notably, the counter insurgency operation in Bhatadurian forested area of Mendhar in Poonch have entered the 25th day on Thursday in which nine Army personnel have lost their lives.
