Lalitpur (UP), July 20 (UNI) A man was sentenced to 20 years rigorous imprisonment along with a penalty of Rs 1 lakh for rape of a minor girl in Lalitpur here in Uttar Pradesh, a prosecution counsel said here on Saturday.
Government Counsel Narendra Singh Gaur said that on July 7, 2020 a woman lodged a complaint at Jakhlaun area of Lalitpur district that on July 1, 2020 she along with her husband had gone to buy fruits from mandi in Mungaoli area of Madhya Pradesh. "She stated that when they returned her 16-year-old daughter was missing," he said.
He said that according to the woman when she inquired from the villagers they informed her that the girl was last spotted with Mohammad Rashid. "The police recovered after a week. The girl alleged that she was raped y Rashid after which her medical examination was done," he said.
