Himachal HC okays trial of 16-yr-old boy accused of raping minor as adult

Shimla, Aug 7 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh High Court has ruled that a 16-year-old boy accused of raping a seven-year-old girl could be tried as an adult.
The court agreed with earlier findings that the boy understood his actions because he threatened the victim and cleaned up evidence after the crime.
A single-judge bench of Justice Rakesh Kainthla said in an order on July 28 that accused medical examination by the Juvenile Justice Board revealed that he could be face trial.
