Purvanchal-Bihar bodies seek action against Khaira by Congress top brass

Chandigarh, May 23 (UNI) A controversial statement given by senior Congress leader and Lok Sabha candidate Sukhpal Singh Khaira on May 18 against the people of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar who have settled in Punjab to make a living has stirred the hornet's nest.
Purvanchal Welfare Association (PWA) and Bihar Parishad are among several organisations in Chandigarh associated with Uttar Pradesh and Bihar populace, who have condemned Congress Khaira's statement against them.
The leaders of Purvanchal have given a 24-hour ultimatum to Manish Tewari for a public apology and sought clarification on Khaira's remarks. They have appealed that not a single voter of Bihar or Purvanchal should vote for Congress.
