Srinagar, Nov 25 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir government on Friday announced the winter vacation for schools in a phased manner in Kashmir and Winter zones of Jammu division from December 5 to 19 respectively, officials said.
Director School Education Kashmir (DSEK) yesterday had proposed to the government to announce winter vacation in Kashmir valley in view of the sub zero and freezing temperatures prevailing in the valley making life miserable especially for the small school going children.
Principal Secretary to the Government of Jammu and Kashmir School Education Department in an official order stated that all Government schools and recognized private schools upto Higher Secondary level of Kashmir division and winter zone of Jammu division shall observe winter vacation in a phased manner from December 5.
