Lone asks GOI to probe 1987 polls

Srinagar, July 23 (UNI) Reiterating the demand for a "fair trial" for former Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front terrorist Yasin Malik, Peoples Conference chairman Sajad Lone on Saturday demanded a probe into the 1987 state elections.
Lone alleged that the elections were rigged and claimed that this was the “root cause” for the youth choosing violence.
Malik, who is undergoing a life term in a 2017 terror-funding case, has been sitting on a hunger strike in Tihar Jail since Friday alleging that this case is not being investigated properly.
