Pakistan's instability will directly impact India: Mehbooba Mufti

Srinagar, May 11 (UNI) Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President Mehbooba Mufti on Thursday said instability in Pakistan would have an impact on India.
She also claimed that the ruling party in Pakistan instead of fighting the opposition politically was using agencies and keeping opposition leaders in jail and that this “disease” has somehow entered India too.
“What is happening in Pakistan presently… unfortunately is not a new thing. Right from the assassinated Prime Minister of Pakistan Zulifkar Ali Bhutto whosoever is against the opposition parties are being sent to jail”, she told reporters in Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district today.
The former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir said the instability in Pakistan will have a direct effect on India.
“In Pakistan also, the ruling party instead of fighting the opposition politically, takes shortcuts and uses agencies to put them in jail. The same process unfortunately is being used here. This disease is also visible somehow in our country also… If we will go through how Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was disqualified from Parliament membership, (Manish) Sisodia was jailed, in the same way as it is happening in Pakistan”, she said.
She said as in Pakistan the ruling party instead of competing with the opposition by taking short cut routes and sending them to jail through their agencies.
“…unfortunately and sadly, the largest democratic country in the world is convicted Rahul Gandhi, and disqualified... Whatever is the situation in Pakistan it looks like we are going in the same direction”, Mehbooba said.
