Clear skies bring relief, but Jhelum breach floods villages in central Kashmir

Srinagar, Sep 4 (UNI) Clear skies during the day eased the overall flood threat in Kashmir, but several villages in central and south Kashmir were inundated following a breach and spillover from the Jhelum embankment.

A breach in the Jhelum river embankment in Budgam district triggered panic across several villages of the district and parts of Srinagar, prompting authorities to evacuate residents from low-lying areas.
