Jammu Auto operators go on day token strike

Jammu, May 29 (UNI) The auto-rickshaw operators on Wednesday under the banner of All Jammu Auto Operators Association went on day long strike to lodge protest against the government for not conceding their demand of revising auto fare.

Alleging harassment by the Traffic Department and Motor Vehicle Department by fining them, the Auto Rikshaws operators on Wednesday remained off road.

President of Association Shanti Sawroop Gupta said that the auto operators are being harassed unnecessarily and they are on strike against this attitude of the concerned authorities.

They demanded that the Government must pay Auto’s rates of Rs 50 down but Rs 33 on first two kilometers is not acceptable to them.

“If the government will not accept their demand in 72 hours, they will be forced to go on indefinite strike,” said the Union leader.
