Oxygen plants non-functional in three big hospitals in Hamirpur despite rise in corona cases

Hamirpur (HP), July 27(UNI) With the number of corona cases rising once again, the oxygen plants in three civil hospitals namely Bhoranj, Sujanpur and Barsar located at the sub-division level in the district are lying closed, while the oxygen plant in the fourth civil hospital Nadaun has not been installed.
At present, oxygen plants are functional only in Medical College Hamirpur and Civil Hospital Toni Devi. Oxygen plant has also started in Tauni Devi only last month with the personal intervention of the local MP, Anurag Thakur and his father and former Chief Minister, PK Dhumal, while there are three oxygen plants in the medical college. The three sub-division level hospitals, Bhoranj, Barsar and Sujanpur, have oxygen plants or plants to store oxygen, but they are still not functional.
Sources in the health department told UNI on Wednesday that in such a situation, direct supply of oxygen is not available in the wards of these hospitals. If the cases of corona increase, then due to lack of oxygen plant facilities in these hospitals, it may be difficult to keep the patients there. For that they will have to depend upon only the oxygen plants of Medical College and Civil Hospital, Toni Devi.
