Himachal CM pays tributes to Kargil martyrs

Hamirpur (HP), July 26 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Tuesday said that the nation would remain indebted to all those who had laid down their lives for the sacred cause of the nation including the Kargil war in 1999.
While addressing people on the occasion of the state-level Kargil Vijay Diwas function in Hamirpur, he said that the Kargil war was historic and Indian forces had proved that they were one of the strongest forces in the World. The CM said that Himachal Pradesh had also played a major role in the war and had lost 52 of its jawans.
Thakur said that the state government would provide all sorts of facilities and help to the families of the war heroes as it had been doing in the past.
