Yogi expresses satisfactory over efforts to stop Zika virus infection in Kanpur

Kanpur, Nov 10 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath praised the measures taken by the local administration to prevent the infection of the Zika virus in Kanpur city. He said that the situation is now under control because of 'satisfactory' monitoring and proper cleanliness drive. Chief Minister Yogi on Wednesday, after reviewing the ongoing situation of the Zika virus in Kanpur, told reporters that in the last month, 105 cases of infection were lodged in the city out of which 17 patients are healthy.

Yogi said that five wards of the city were particularly affected by the virus infection, but with the help of the collective efforts of the local administration and other agencies including the municipal corporation, the situation was brought under control by intensifying the surveillance and cleanliness drive. He said that additional teams of surveillance personnel have been deployed to completely prevent the spread of the virus. The patients who are being treated at home (home isolation) are also being continuously monitored.
