Covid:  UP reports  2,503 fresh cases, 29 deaths

Lucknow, Oct 18(UNI) With 2,503 fresh Covid-19 cases being reported in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday, the tally in the state has mounted to 4,55,146.

However, for the past one month after September 17, the number of fresh active patients are less than the recovered patients and the recovery rate has gone up to over 90 per cent.

The total death due to Covid in the state has also gone up to 6658 with 29 fresh casualties.
There are a total of 32,896 active patients in the state in which over 50 per cent are in the home isolation , official sources here on Sunday said.
On Saturday, the labs tested 1,69,658 samples and now the total testing in the state has reached a milestone of 1,30,11,893, highest by any state in the country.

Meanwhile, in Lucknow on Sunday 293 fresh cases were reported while 7 people died. In Prayagraj there were 125 new cases and in Gorakhpur there were 112 fresh cases.

Haryana govt takes precautionary measures in view of farmers' Delhi Chalo march

Chandigarh, Nov 24 (UNI) Haryana Government has decided to take all precautionary measures, in view of the situation during the proposed nationwide 'Delhi Chalo' (March to Delhi) call given by farmer organisations on November 26, regarding the Farmers' Welfare Ordinances.

Haryana Chief Secretary Vijai Vardhan presided over a review meeting with Divisional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police of districts namely Ambala, Sirsa, Fatehabad, Jind, Kaithal, Kurukshetra and Panchkula regarding maintaining law and order during the proposed nationwide march to Delhi.

Additional Chief Secretary, Financial Commissioner, Revenue & Disaster Management Sanjeev Kaushal, and Additional Chief Secretary, Medical Education and Research Department Alok Nigam attended the meeting through video-conferencing.
