UP records over 14,000 recoveries in past 24 hours

Lucknow, Apr 21 (UNI) Over 14,000 patients were discharged from the hospitals after recovering from the deadly coronavirus during the last 24 hours in the state, officials here said on Wednesday.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said, 'This is really good news that over 14,000 patients in the state have successfully won the battle against coronavirus and discharged from the hospitals.'
Making it very clear that neither his government would impose another lockdown nor let the people die in misery, Mr Adityanath, in a high-level review meet on Wednesday, said, "It is the officials' responsibility to ensure beforehand that there is no shortage of hospital beds for the patients in the state."
The Government said that it has already taken several measures to stop the spread of the virus, such as declaring containment zones (over 77,000 zones have been declared in the state), imposing night curfews, weekend bandh, and limits on gatherings.
The CM has given strict instructions to the Integrated Control Command Center to make the information regarding the empty beds in hospitals public. This will help patients to immediately get the treatment at the hospital.
As more people are getting infected with this virus, the demand for Remdesivir drugs has increased in the state. Uttar Pradesh, will get 1000 more vials of Remdesivir by Thursday evening. The CM has also instructed the hospital administration to ask for any kind of help required by the Government.
People who roam around in public places without masks can prove to be fatal for themselves as well as society. In this regard, the government announced that a first-time offender would be levied a fine of Rs 1,000 but thereafter, the individual would have to pay a penalty of up to Rs10,000.
Stepping up preventive measures in the wake of a spike in coronavirus cases, the Chief Minister has directed the senior officials to conduct RT-PCR tests of migrant workers returning to the state on a war-footing.
The state government is making free arrangements for the migrant workers returning home due to the lockdown in Delhi, Rajasthan and Maharashtra. It has also ordered the setting up of quarantine centres for migrant laboureres in every district of the state.
These centres will have all the facilities for labourers returning to their home state and testing positive for Covid, including food and beverages along with medical aid.
The Yogi Government has decided to administer the Covid-19 vaccine free of cost to all those above 18 years of age from May 1.
