Lucknow, Jul 17 (UNI) In view of spike in Covid-19 cases across Uttar Pradesh particularly in big cities like Lucknow, Ghaziabad, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Varanasi, Jhansi, Kanpur and others, state Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has asked officials to prepare a model as how to protect people from the virus and directed them to go strict to enforce the guidelines.
Chief Minister gave this directive after reviewing a presentation about ways to control the spread of corona infection in the state, here on late Thursday night.
After the CM's direction, some districts have announced partial lockdown in their area on Friday morning.
In Lucknow, where the highest single-day spike of 308 COVID cases were detected on Thursday, the authorities on Friday announced partial lockdown in 4 police station area of Ghazipur, Indira Nagar, Ashiyana and Sarjoninagar from Monday.
The state capital authorities have asked all the offices including banks and others to set up Covid help desk immediately for screening of the people going there.
Besides, travel history of the positive cases would be detected and Covid testing would be rammed up while those detected would be admitted to the hospital within 2 hours.
The CM, in his directive, has asked the authorities to put big cities under the scanner. The nodal officers should hold meetings with DM, CDO and other district officials to get the feedback.
"The prevention of this disease is face mask and social distancing. The violators of these guidelines should be penalised," CM said.
Government has announced a fine of Rs 500 for not wearing a face mask.
The CM said that pulse oximeter and infrared thermometer should be put to use which the government has issued. The senior doctors should visit the Covid-19 hospitals and the hospitals should give information about the condition of patients.
On Thursday, the state had recorded 2,083 fresh cases of Covid-19, taking the state's infection tally to 43,441.
The death toll also reached 1,046 with 34 fresh fatalities.
