Punjab registers record 106 deaths, 1514 fresh Covid cases

Chandigarh, Sep 2 (UNI) Punjab on Wednesday registered record 106 deaths and 1514 fresh Covid-19 cases, taking the death toll to 1618 and the infection tally to 56,989 in the state.
According to an official health bulletin, the deadly virus claimed 18 lives in Ludhiana district, 11 in Jalandhar, 10 in Bathinda, 9 in SAS Nagar, 8 each in Amritsar and Gurdaspur, 7 in Ropar, 6 in Patiala, 5 each in Kapurthala, Ferozepur and Hoshiarpur, 3 each in Fatehgarh Sahib and Fazilka, 2 each in Tarn Taran, Faridkot and Sangrur and one life each in SBS Nagar and Muktar districts today.
It said that 242 fresh cases have been reported from Ludhiana district, 171 from Jalandhar, 163 from Bathinda, 160 from Patiala, 112 from SAS Nagar, 99 from Amritsar, 64 from Faridkot, 63 from Muktsar, 60 from Barnala, 56 from Fazilka, 46 from Ferozepur, 44 from Sangrur, 30 from Ropar, 27 each from Mansa and Tarn Taran, 25 each from Kapurthala and Gurdaspur, 24 each from Moga and Pathankot, 18 from Hoshiarpur, 17 new cases each from SBS Nagar and Fatehgarh Sahib districts.
