Chandigarh, Aug 31 (UNI) Punjab on Monday registered 1541 fresh Covid-19 cases and 50 deaths, taking the infection tally to 53,992 and the death toll to 1453 in the state.
According to an official health bulletin, the deadly virus claimed 18 lives in Ludhiana district, 10 in SAS Nagar, 5 each in Hoshiarpur and Amritsar, 4 in Kapurthala, 3 in Jalandhar and one life each in Patiala, Fatehgarh Sahib, Moga, Gurdaspur and Fazilka districts.
It said that 231 fresh cases have been reported from Bathinda district, 210 from Ludhiana, 202 from Jalandhar, 156 from Patiala, 118 from Amritsar, 102 from SAS Nagar, 75 from Gurdaspur, 58 from Barnala, 44 each from Mansa and Hoshiarpur, 42 from Ferozepur, 40 from Sangrur, 36 from Muktsar, 35 from Pathankot, 33 from Kapurthala, 32 from Faridkot, 25 from Fatehgarh Sahib, 23 from Moga, 16 from Ropar, 11 from SBS Nagar, 5 from Tarn Taran and 3 new cases from Fazilka district.
