Punjab registers 829 fresh COVID-19 cases, 35 deaths

Chandigarh, Oct 9 (UNI) As many as 829 fresh cases of COVID-19 and 35 deaths were reported in Punjab on Friday, taking the infection tally to 1,22,459 and the death toll to 3,773.
According to the Health bulletin, the fresh deaths included five each in Gurdaspur and Pathankot, four each in Amritsar and Jalandhar, three each in Kapurthala, SAS Nagar and Muktsar, two each in Patiala and Ropar and one death each in Ludhiana, Bathinda, Fatehgarh Sahib and Tarn Taran districts today.
It further said 103 fresh cases were reported from Jalandhar district, 98 from Ludhiana, 94 from Amritsar, 77 from SAS Nagar, 59 from Hoshiarpur, 49 from Patiala, 47 from Bathinda, 39 from Kapurthala, 34 each from Pathankot and Tarn Taran, 32 from Fazilka, 26 from Moga, 23 each from Ferozepur and Mansa, 22 from Muktsar, 16 from Faridkot, 14 from SBS Nagar, 11 from Gurdaspur, 10 from Sangrur, eight from Fatehgarh Sahib, six from Barnala and four new cases from Ropar district.
