Punjab registers 2,717 fresh COVID cases, 78 deaths

Chandigarh, Sep 16 (UNI) As many as 2,717 fresh cases of Covid-19 and 78 deaths were reported in Punjab on Tuesday, taking the infection tally to 87,184 and the death toll to 2,592 in the state.
According to an official health bulletin, the virus has so far claimed 15 lives in Ludhiana district, 11 in Patiala, 10 in Jalandhar, 9 in Amritsar, 6 in Bathinda, 5 each in Sangrur and Hoshiarpur, 3 in Moga, 2 each in Fazilka, Kapurthala, Muktsar and Ropar and one life each in Barnala, Fatehgarh Sahib, Ferozepur, Gurdaspur, Mansa and Pathankot districts today.
It further said that 562 fresh cases were reported from Ludhiana district, 272 from SAS Nagar, 267 from Amritsar, 247 from Patiala, 209 from Jalandhar, 206 from Hoshiarpur, 144 from Gurdaspur, 131 from Faridkot, 119 from Bathinda, 78 from Ropar, 72 from Kapurthala, 54 each from Fazilka and SBS Nagar, 53 from Sangrur, 50 from Mansa, 39 from Ferozepur, 37 from Pathankot, 35 from Fatehgarh Sahib, 32 from Moga, 25 from Barnala, 19 from Muktsar and 12 new cases from Tarn Taran district.
