Punjab registers 2,496 fresh COVID cases, 70 deaths

Chandigarh, Sep 14 (UNI) As many as 2,496 fresh cases of Covid-19 and 70 deaths were reported in Punjab on Monday, taking the infection tally to 82,113 and the death toll to 2,424 in the state.
According to an official health bulletin, the virus has so far claimed 14 lives in Ferozepur district, 11 in Ludhiana, 6 each in Amritsar, Hoshiarpur and Patiala, 5 each in Gurdaspur, Kapurthala and Jalandhar, 3 in Fatehgarh Sahib, 2 each in SAS Nagar and Sangrur and one life each in SBS Nagar, Muktsar, Moga, Faridkot and Bathinda districts today.
It further said that 408 fresh cases were reported from SAS Nagar district, 387 from Patiala, 307 from Ludhiana, 281 from Amritsar, 261 from Jalandhar, 100 from Ropar, 98 from Pathankot, 89 from Bathinda, 88 from Hoshiarpur, 81 from Sangrur, 65 from Muktsar, 58 from Kapurthala, 51 from Fatehgarh Sahib, 40 from Gurdaspur, 31 from Faridkot, 29 from Mansa, 28 from Ferozepur, 27 from Fazilka, 23 from Moga, 20 from Tarn Taran, 13 from SBS Nagar and 11 new cases from Barnala district.
