War against COVID-19: MP’s body count rises to 2,898

Bhopal, Oct 27 (UNI) The fatality figure owing to the ‘millennium scourge’ mounted to 2,898 in Madhya Pradesh where eight fresh demises were reported on Tuesday even as the infected tally touched 1,68,483 with 514 more sufferers being detected during analysis of 19,223 specimens.
A Health Services Directorate bulletin issued tonight pegged the active cases at 10,353 – a statistic that is providentially displaying a downward trend. Indore District had the dubious distinction of spawning the highest 112 new instances; Bhopal 86; Jabalpur 46; Khargone and Harda 18 each; Gwalior 15; Betul, Sidhi and Balaghat 14 each; Satna 13; Sagar and Khandwa 12 each. An encouraging fact was that no fresh patient was recorded in Damoh, Chhatarpur, Alirajpur, Tikamgarh, Ashoknagar, Agar-Malwa and Niwari.
