Srinagar, Aug 21 (UNI) A CRPF jawan was among 15 people who died due to COVID-19 during the last 24 hours in Kashmir valley, taking the death toll due to the infection to 593 in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir , where 654 new positive cases were detected on Friday.

“Srinagar continued to remain at the top in terms of new cases with 206 people tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday followed by Budgam and Jammu with 68 and 63 new cases, respectively,” an official said, adding 580 positive patients have recovered Friday.
