Hamirpur (HP), Sep 22 (UNI) As many as 22 more people have tested positive for the novel coronavirus in this Himachal Pradesh district in last 24 hrs, Dr Archna Soni, Chief Medical Officer, Hamirpur said on Monday.
With this, the total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 819, including 134 active cases. Five persons have lost their lives and 680 persons have been cured, as per the local health department sources.
Dr Archana Soni said that those found positive included a 41-year-old man from village Tibbi of Kuthera, a 19-year-old youth from village Shun of Jaladi, a 43-year-old man from village Badwal in Booni area and another 41-year-old man from Kulhera village.
The report of a 26-year-old woman from village Badhera and 38-year-old Bhota from Batra region have been reported positive due to primary contact with the Corona-infected person.
A 36-year-old man from village Sangharwad in Tikkar Minhasa area of Bhoranj and a 28-year-old woman from village Dunghi in Tikkar Khatariyan area have also been found infected.
She said that all these eight people were kept in home quarantine.
The CMO said that a 65-year-old man, a 42-year-old man, a 35-year-old woman, a 14-year-old boy, a 12-year-old boy and a 10-year-old boy from village Patta and a 4-year-old child from village Pippal in the Chari area have also been found infected.
The primary contact led to the infection to a 12-year-old boy from village Budhvi of Galod, a 60-year-old woman from village Hatli in Galore, an 80-year-old woman from ward number 2 of Nadaun, a 52-year-old woman from Nadaun and a 28-year-old youth from ward number one of Sujanpur have also been found positive.
The report of a 26-year-old woman from Jajri village of Badsar, who had returned from Chandigarh was also found positive.
Apart from these, a 41-year-old man has also been found positive in the rapid antigen test in Sujanpur.
The Chief Medical Officer said that on Monday a total of 35 samples were taken for rapid antigen testing in various health blocks of the district, out of which only one positive case was found.
