HP's Kangra death toll reaches 1159 due to Covid

Dharamshala, Nov 15 (UNI) Three more persons, two of them senior citizens, died in Kangra district on Monday due to lethal novel Coronavirus taking Covid death toll to 1159 in district.
The number of fresh cases who tested positive on Monday for the lethal novel Cornelius were 61 here pushing the Kangra district case load to 51478 Deputy Commissioner Kangra Dr. Nipun Jindal told UNI that all the 61 fresh cases who have tested positive today have been isolated as per the protocol.
He said that these positive cases comprise of 29 màle and 32 female. These fresh cases included some students of Govt. Senior Secondary school Malahri and 8 minor girls of UTCV cantonment besides few cases from BSNL Colony Dharamshala.

UP Congress changes 29 district chiefs just before assembly polls

Lucknow ,Jan 20(UNI) Apprehending revolt by over two dozen Congress district and city chiefs, who were denied tickets for the Assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh, state Congress president Ajay Kumar Lallu on Thursday changed 29 district chiefs.
Surprisingly the changes were made even when the process of polls is already on and is likely to hit the Party’s campaign trail. Congress Committee spokesperson Ashok Singh on Thursday confirmed that on the recommendation of the All India Congress Committee, working presidents of District/City Congress Committees have been appointed in many districts of Uttar Pradesh with immediate effect.
