One more dies of COVID-19 in HP, total cases rise to 946

Shimla, Jun 30 (UNI) The death toll of COVID-19 increased to eight in Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday after an 80-year-old man succumbed to the virus in Mandi district.
Senior Medical Superintendent of Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Government Hospital Nerchowk Dr Jiwa Nand Chauhan said that the elderly hailing from Jungle-beri of Hamirpur had tested positive for COVID-19 on June 22 and admitted to the isolation ward of the hospital very next day. He breathed his last on Tuesday morning.
This is the eight death due to the pandemic in the state.
Meanwhile, two more people tested positive for the virus in Kangra, taking the total number of cases in the district to 270, which also includes two deaths.
In Hamirpur also, two persons including a 10-year-old boy were found infected. With this, the total number of COVID-19 patients in Hamirpur has risen to 245, which includes one death.
The total number of COVID-19 cases in Himachal have reached 946. Of these, 370 are active cases while 556 recovered.
